Concrete Batching Plants
Anyone in the construction business knows the importance of concrete, a construction material that has various components. However, concrete doesn’t form on its own and needs to be procured by employing certain procedures on its various constituents. Any ordinary mixing techniques cannot be used for this purpose and thus a specific piece of equipment is required. Normally, a concrete batching plant can be of two kinds, depending upon how the mixing is done and when the concrete reaches the job site. The two types are:
1. Ready Mix Plant: All components barring water are combined. This dry mixture is disposed into a concrete transport truck where water is added to it. This mixing occurs when the truck is on its way to the job site.
2. Central Mix Plant: All or few components along with water are combined at a fundamental location. Once the end product is obtained, it is transported to the job site.
Given the central location of the mixing in the former plant, it is more dependable than the former which is mixed while the truck is being transported to the job site.
Modern technology is all pervasive and it has even influenced concrete batching plants. Be it the ready mix plant or the central mix plant, computers provide effective control of the core ingredients that are loaded in the plant according to the way you program your computer. Such automated plants are fed with accurate quantities of raw material, accessory equipment can be coordinated and as a result the output is more uniform than manual loading plants. Even these self-loading plants can be adjusted to be fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual via the control options which you have.
Concrete batching plants are expensive and one cannot put up numerous plants since that would drastically increase transportation, labor and equipment costs. This is the reason why these batching plants should be located at a close proximity to the construction site.
